Reflexive verbs · sich freuen
Verbs that take a "self" pronoun — mich, dich, sich, uns, euch: Ich freue mich, Wir treffen uns.
Examples
- Ich freue mich auf die Ferien.I'm looking forward to the holidays.
- Wir treffen uns im Café.We're meeting at the café.
How it works
Some German verbs always come with a pronoun that points back to the subject — like English "enjoy yourself", but far more common. In the dictionary they appear with sich: sich freuen (be glad), sich treffen (meet), sich setzen (sit down).
