Stressed pronouns · moi, toi, lui
moi, toi, lui, elle, nous, vous, eux, elles: the pronouns that stand without a verb, after avec / pour / chez (avec moi), after c'est (c'est lui) and for emphasis (Moi, je…).
Examples
- C'est pour toi.It's for you.
- Moi aussi.Me too.
How it works
je, tu, il… only work as the subject, right before their verb. When a pronoun stands without a verb after it, French switches to a second set, the stressed pronouns. English uses "me, him" in the same places.
