Modal verbs · poder / querer / deber / tener que
poder (can), querer (want), deber (should), tener que (have to) — change the modal to match the subject (conjugate it), then add a bare infinitive (the dictionary form, like hablar).

How it works
Spanish modals are followed directly by an infinitive (the dictionary form, like hablar) — no preposition, no "to":
The four core modals:
deber vs tener que:
You should call your mother. (moral / advice)
I have to work tomorrow. (obligation, no choice)
Hay que + inf — impersonal "one must", general:
One must study to pass.
