比较级和最高级（-er / -est，more / most）

短形容词加 -er / -est，长形容词用 more / most；不规则：better、worst。

例句

  • She is taller than me.她比我高。
  • This is the best book.这是最好的一本书。

-er 和 -est

短形容词

单音节形容词加 -er / -est：

tall → taller → the tallest
fast → faster → the fastest

以 e 结尾只加 -r / -st：nice → nicer → the nicest

重读闭音节、一个元音字母加一个辅音字母结尾，双写：big → bigger → the biggest, hot → hotter → the hottest

以辅音字母 + y 结尾的双音节词，变 y 为 i：happy → happier → the happiest, easy → easier → the easiest

more 和 most

长形容词

大多数双音节词和所有三个音节以上的词，用 more / most：

careful → more careful → the most careful
beautiful → more beautiful → the most beautiful
expensive → more expensive → the most expensive
少数双音节词两种都可以，比如 clever, narrow, quiet, simple：
cleverer / more clever

比较级加 than，最高级加 the

A + be + 比较级 + than + B：

She is taller than me.

她比我高。

This book is more interesting than that one.

这本书比那本有意思。

the + 最高级（+ 名词）+ in / of …：
She is the tallest in the class.

她是班上最高的。

This is the best book I have ever read.

这是我读过的最好的书。

as + 形容词原级 + as，表示“和……一样”：
She is as tall as her brother.

她和她哥哥一样高。

than 后面的人称代词，口语里常用宾格（than me）；正式一点可以说 than I am。
