冠词（a / an / the）
第一次提到、或者说“某一个”用 a / an；双方都知道是哪一个用 the；泛指时不加冠词。

中文没有冠词，所以这是中国学生最容易漏掉的东西。记住一句话：单数可数名词前面几乎总要有点什么，比如 a、an、the、my、this，不能光秃秃地出现。

用在单数可数名词前，听的人还不知道是哪一个：
I have a dog.
我有一只狗。（第一次提到）
She is an engineer.
她是一名工程师。（职业、身份前要加 a / an）
a 还是 an，看后面单词开头的发音，不看字母：
a book, a university
一本书，一所大学（university 开头读 /juː/，是辅音）
an apple, an hour
一个苹果，一个小时（hour 的 h 不发音，开头是元音）

把门打开。（就是我们眼前那扇门）

太阳很热。（世界上独一无二的东西）

零冠词
泛指时什么都不加
泛指一类东西时，不可数名词前面不加冠词（复数名词也一样，比如 Cats are cute.，下一课“名词复数”再练）：
Water is important.
水很重要。
I like music.
我喜欢音乐。
大多数国名、一日三餐、语言前面也不加：
I live in China. I have breakfast every day. She speaks French.
我住在中国。我每天吃早饭。她会说法语。
（国名里带 States、Kingdom 这类词的要加 the：the US，the UK。）
常见错误
漏掉冠词或乱加 the
I am student.I am a student.
职业、身份前要有 a / an。
I work in office.I work in an office.
She is a engineer.She is an engineer.
engineer 开头是元音，用 an。
an universitya university
看发音，不看字母。
I like the music.I like music.
泛指“音乐”不加 the。
